Takes primary responsibility for operation of the new online publications and publications services once they are implemented. Keeps Digital Cumulative Index correct and up to date by (a) guiding partner publishers in file requirements and workflow, (b) administering the database directly through administrator interface, and (c) obtaining vendor support as needed. Takes primary responsibility for Global Conference Abstracts (online publication of expanded abstracts from SEG-sponsored meetings other than the Annual Meeting), interfacing with meeting operators to secure rights, preparing or arranging for preparation of files for online delivery, guiding the vendor in development of the site (ensuring that design is consistent with Marketing and Communications requirements), coordinating with Marketing/Web Content staff on product announcements, and coordinating with Application Development staff on satisfaction of technical requirements. Assists the editorial staffs of Geophysics, The Leading Edge, the Technical Program Expanded Abstracts, and SEG eBooks in identifying and correcting deficiencies in the publications’ online presentations in the SEG Digital Library and GeoScienceWorld, providing consistent and regular review. Works with the staff, the vendor, and directly through administrative interfaces to correct problems, provide new or corrected files for publication, and keep announcements on the sites up to date. Monitors and regularly reports on usage of SEG online publications. Builds and maintains relationships with operators of search engines on which SEG publications are indexed, ensuring optimal display of SEG publications content in search results.
